I am a tango dancer and I want to refine the bottom of my shoes so that I could go out and dance so I asked Don Mario, the shoemaker in the neighborhood of Mataderos, VICTORIO ZINGALE.  Thus it began, more than 15 years ago, the history of Victorio Tango Shoes, one of first, exclusively tango, footwear factories in Buenos Aires.  “It excited me so much transforming those shoes that, suddenly, the light bulb went off and I began to make them." With my wife, Alicia, I was going to show them at tango clubs, they ordered the men in the beginning to them and soon after the girls added themselves.  We did this for 5 sacrificing years and since every time they requested more, we decided with our children to make something bigger so that everyone in the world  and enjoy our tango shoes.  In this, it is not possible to be improvised, is necessary to know, affirms Victorio, who began at the age of 18 making street shoes in the back of his father’s house, always in Mataderos which is known as the "Tango neighborhood."  Thus, during the thirty years he dedicated himself to the manufacturing of shoes until his mid-fifties, as to entertain itself she put herself to fix shoes in the district, until "magically" from that pair that him  redesign to its friend I retake the manufacture; but this time, tango shoes. And thus was born Calzados Victorio, a family company dedicated exclusively to the manufacturing of shoes to dance TANGO.

All our shoes are thought, designed and made in artisan form and 100 % by hand, a half-dozen of people takes part in the preparation of these shoes, the main tools are their expert hands, with few and simple machines, with these tools they make between 30 and 40 pairs daily using materials of excellent quality: COW LEATHER, PATENT LEATHER, CABRITILLAS RECORDED, SUEDE, CHAROL ,LAME, VILLONE, different types from NONSKID bottoms and great variety of HEELS in different heights and styles.  All these characteristics offer you the possibility to obtain a light, comfortable, great quality and flexible shoe and a unique market price since we are one of the few true MANUFACTURERS of tango footwear in ARGENTINA.

HOW TO MAKE AN ARTESAN TANGO SHOES :

The first step in the production of a shoe is the CUT one.  In this stage, pieces, from the selected material, are CUT with different "molds" according to the model (of the shoe).  Each pair of shoes requires approximately 40 pieces that must be properly cut with their respective marks and guides to advance to the following stage.

CUT

Once all the pieces are cut and properly marked, we continue to second stage, denominated APARADO.  In this part of the manufacturing process, the cut pieces are united and are sewn one by one thus finishing in a "CUT", denomination used for the piece finished in this stage.

APARADO

In this third stage, denominated BUILD, the CUT is mounted onto the FORM, after aligning it with the measures you specify for each figure.  The cut is fixed to the form by placing seeds (small nails) one by one until the process is complete.  At the end of this stage, the shoe is ready to be paired with a sole.

BUILD

Following the previous stage, we find ourselves ready to ATTACH THE SOLE.  In this step, the sole of the shoe is attached and can be made from leather or non-skid cromo, (the process is the same).  The sole is manually trimmed to the contour of the FORM and then "devirada" with a machine specially created for this stage.

PACKING

The last step is PACKING.  Here the shoe is removed from the form, the heels are attached, to stick the sight sole, the shoes are cleaned, the edges painted, etc.  From this last step, the shoe completes all the stages and leaves in a box ready to be dispatched.
